In my current position as Audio and Digital Media Manager, I am a key player in radio and podcast operations from start to finish. I understand that a podcast is more than just an mp3 file.
A successful podcast requires:
- Strategic planning
- High quality talent
- Skillful marketing
- Personalized outreach
- Continual audience analysis

Audience research
I was part of a team that conducted a quasi experimental research study that concluded that the Amazon Echo offered blind seniors a welcoming and accessible approach to online navigation. With data gathered, my company launch a successful project to provide Echo’s free-of-charge to Colorado’s blind residents as a method of accessing podcasts.
Content creation:

Professional Voice Studios
I manage six professional voice studios and a radio control room, which requires regular maintenance of the computers, microphones and studio equipment. I was even a part of the build team that constructed the studios, from installing sound panels to wiring microphones into the control room.

On-Air Interview host
I have conducted interviews on Community Conversations a weekly series discussing disability and local community resources. The show was broadcast to all of Colorado and made available as a podcast.

Radio Ads and PSA’s
I have voiced and produced hundreds of audio advertisements and PSA’s for radio and online distribution.
Distribution

Radio broadcasting
I am the lead media manager of four 24/7 broadcasts. Versed in WideOrbit Radio Automation and through powerful partnerships, I ensure my company’s audio reaches all corners of Colorado, even those without internet.

Podcasts in your pocket
I manage the distribution of hundreds of podcasts to all major streaming platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google podcasts, and more. Podcasts are also available on the company website.

Amazon Alexa Skills
I assist the management of four custom Alexa skills that allow users to play podcasts and streams by voice commands through the Amazon Echo. I use AWS Lambda and Amazon Developer Services to update program listings regularly.

Call-in podcasts
That’s right — you can listen to podcasts just by calling a phone number. I manage a complex Asterisk PBX that allows callers to listen to hundreds podcasts or live stream on demand. This allows users that don’t have internet to access audio information easily and for free. Try it out! Call 303-786-7777 and follow the prompts to find a podcast that interests you.

Fun Fact: I’m also a performer!
When I’m not creating effective digital marketing campaigns for my day job, I am playing bass and singing with my band, The Ephinjis. I am on three LP’s and several singles and EP’s, and I have performed on hundreds of stages throughout the Midwest.
